I want to declutter my case a bit. I was thinking about connecting my three (sometimes four) HDDs to a single 6-pin port in my PSU like this:
[6-pin female - molex female] ---> [molex male - 4 x SATA female]
I know that the second cable exists, however the only cable similar to the first one I can find is 6-pin female - 3-pin molex MALE (used for fans, I think?). 6-pin - 4 x SATA cables don't seem to exist outside of a single site with expensive homemade cables.
Another option would be:
[6-pin female - SATA female] ---> [SATA male - 4 x SATA female]
Again, the second cable exists, but the first one just doesn't.
My question is: how can I power three or four SATA drives without using tons of cables?
