I was more referring to the locked bootloader that requires hacks to install a different OS onto the hardware. That's more related to buying Mac hardware itself, though. If you're running Mac OS on any other hardware (AKA, a better machine), you won't have this problem.
If it's really that complicated to make the UI something else, I can't imagine what else you'd have to jump through in order to make it your own. For-sure not into systems like that.
