Now that SanDisk stopped making the Clip+ what is the best MP3 player? Looking for MicroSD slot + standard 3.5mm jack. Usb mini or micro doesn't matter,

The FiiO x1 is nice dose it's job and nothing more. Though the wheel is unreliable at times. Mine was degrading and made it impossible to turn, the solution was to simple remove the rubber part of the wheel then it started working again.

get an android phone or old iphone (lots of people getting new iphones, take their old one) with bluetooth and you can use wireless headset for music while working out or doing work.

hmmm I see. Fair enough. One of my family members owns a Lonve like pic related. She likes it and only paid $30 for it. Includes a micro sd slot up to 32GB. Battery life is kind of insane, some report 20+ hours playing mp3 files.

Thought it kind of looks like an ipod so Ahmed might be temped to steal it. It sells for $30 max so you won't really lose that much money anyway.

This. It even has a cute video player. My Lonve is collecting dust somewhere now that I listen to music on my android phone. It was a pretty good mp3 player though. Music sounded very high quality even though I only paid like $25 for it. Battery was really nice too, I only charged it like once a week.

Used a ZIF to CF card adapter, and then a CF to SDHC/SDXC card adapter.

Ifixit has a nifty guide I used way back when https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/iPod+5th+Generation+(Video)+CF+or+SDHC-SDXC+Memory+instead+of+HDD+Replacement/7492

I'm good for some more time now, but I'm seriously worried about my future ability to listen to music without carrying a phone with a 1-day battery.

I've been looking into DIYing a player lately, it's doable with some work today and I'm thinking it'll only get easier with 3D printed cases and next-gen Arduinos. That seems to be our best hope.

Because honestly, there not much choice left: cheap Android phones, Nokia dumbphones, new Sandisks with no Rockbox, dogshit tier Philips players, okay Sony players albeit on the expensive side, and overpriced "audiophile" meme shit. I'm at a point where I'd kill for some of the shitty players that were still sold 10 years ago.
