Got a an 4790k i7 and this video card. I recently found out about this thing called "steam" and a lot of my old favorite games I grew up with are on their, so naturally I got some to play again. Totally out of the loop for new games, so what can this thing do? What new games can I play, and what can I play at max settings? I've been out of computer gaming since. . . 2007.

Eh. . . Was kind of wondering more about maybe not the newest and greatest, which I'm sure it couldn't play maxed out, just some good games in the past 5 years or so.

I honestly can't tell if you're joking or not. Steam has been a thing since 2003. If you're somehow not a troll, the 750Ti can carry medium or high graphics at 1680x1050 (60fps) with 4xMSAA on my machine. At 1080p you would probably have to settle for FXAA to maintain 60fps.

The 750Ti can run almost all games from before 2013 at 1080p60 with max settings and medium AA.

Oh shit really? Didn't know it's been around that long. No, I have heard of it, just didn't know exactly what it was or bothered to find out.

I should say I am running dual monitors 1080p, but would play games only on one.

What exactly is MSAA and FXAA?

I'm both >>51051298 and >>51051305. MSAA is "good" antialiasing that takes extra time to render the edges of objects at a higher resolution to avoid "jaggies". FXAA just blurs them, which can be "good enough" for most but annoying and shimmer-y to others.

Ahh. The only new game I downloaded was FFXIV and it had all these options under graphics that I didn't know what the fuck they meant. Will play that here in a bit and check them over again now that you explained it.

It does run that game pretty good. I set it to max desktop and I think everything else to max, or what I think is max. Probably dips down a little under 60fps in parts, no biggie.
