Matlab syntax is really the worst.
Pass an argument in C style language: you must give every argument in the specified order, an IDE will tell you the order so not a big deal.
Matlab allows for a jumbled order, fine, but you write ('argument',value)... Not really a pretty syntax and it is very verbose.
R is the perfect mix.
You write (argument="value") if you want to randomize, skip or just write it more verbose. It is easy to read and implement and it makes documentation so much easier.
