What is your technological age /x/?
With the rate of new inventions increasing more and more the time before a new technology becomes absolute decreases.
This means that a newer generation of humans will cycle trough new technological advancements more rapidly compared to its previous generation, wich makes the gap between human generations bigger and bigger.
The technological age of an invidual is defined by all the technological cycles that invidual went trough where each cycle counts as one year. because the rate of cyles increases, the technological age of an invidual increases exponentially with its actual age.
for example the number of technological innovations between 10000B.C and 5000B.C was very low, while the technological innovations between 1915 and 2015 was comperatively extremely high.
Children who grow up today won't even know how technology worked of their previous generation and the generation after them wont know how technology worked today and so forth.
While technology that has become obsolete might still function perfectly, humans who still use obsolete technology might find it very difficult to participate in society. In this way new technology forces older generations to adopt or otherwise they can't compete anymore.
The avarage age of a technological cycle in 2015 can be estimated to 7 months. This is a bit higher(but not significiantly) for hardware, while software is a bit lower.
