What do I do against cell phone tower tracking, /g/?
I want to stay reachable. Is there a good handheld (like DragonBox Pyra), which I can use as an email client? Also: There must be the possibility to change the MAC address

Well you can get a phone with no SIM card and just use wi-fi. I believe that works. It'll still be hard to secure, and if privacy is your concern you'll want a VPN. You won't be able to use phone-network shit like voice calling or texting.

Unless you create your own communications network, the only way to avoid leaking location information is to use a SIM card that does not relate to you in order to maintain anonymity.

In practical terms you probably can't really do this. Hiding who you are, where you are and who you're talking to is almost impossible.
Just encrypt your data.

If you're on the cell network, they can track you. Even if they don't use stingrays and shit, the phone company will have records of which SIM was connected to which tower at which time, and much more besides. They will share this information with the government on request.

Basically you have to stay off any mobile phone networks and there isn't a way around it.

On top of that I should note that de-anonymizing someone with location data is a joke.
They can simply see where you spend 8 hours every night and check the name for the adress.
This is easily automated as well.

Basically find any old subnotebook/umpc that doesn't have the necessary hardware to connect to the cell network and has WiFi, don't know if the DragonBox Pyra meets your requirements for being able to change the MAC address, but even an old Nintendo DS would have decent enough hardware to work as an email client. You could look into VOIP for talking on the go if you need that, also a pager if for some reason you need to know right when people try to contact you (though you probably won't).

GSM phones have an IMEI number on the phone in addition to the IMSI number on the SIM card, you can still be tracked and are still vulnerable to all the baseband exploits available.
