Why do so many people in tech think form and function are mutually exclusive?

Just because tasteless normalshitters hold up compromised (and ugly) Apple shitboxes as the apex of design does not mean they're right. Actually giving a shit about every aspect of your product does not automatically entail removing all of the I/O, expansion and throttling the shit out of the hardware trying to fit it into a tablet form factor to please soccer moms and lanklets. In fact, there were once a lot of products that had a unique, consistent, in-house design philosophy that were more expandable and functional than half of the tacticool gamer trash shitboxes people who often take personal offense to the idea of good looking hardware on /g/ actually use.
