Plover
What is it?

Plover is the software part of the open steno movement. Stenography is the practice of machine shorthand. Ever wonder how court reporters can type at the pace of a person talking for hours on end, without making any typos? Plover is a phonetic/mnemonic system that relies on "chording" words instead of typing them. Think of it as playing the piano; you can either press many keys all separately, or you can press many at once. Plover uses many at once and you are able to type most words in a single stroke, or at most about one stroke per syllable. Piked your interest? Well, you can learn more here.
