AMD has money in the bank it can use to fund itself, even if people aren't directly investing into them.
Regardless of how well or not they are doing in the markets, it has little impact in their development teams, unless they are doing extraordinarily well to invest massively into R&D. If they aren't, they still have money to keep going for a good while at the pace they've been going lately.
Also, do you really think AMD is going anywhere, when 2 new generation consoles dropped last year with AMD CPUs? Even the new Nintendo console is speculated to have one too. Those margins can only go up in time, and they won't be killed off for at least a while.
