I'm an audio engineer and I'm thinking about buying headphones. I've seen some data sheets and checked some important specs, such as the frequency response plot or its transducer type. I'd like also to know the subject assessment (if possible, with the EBU standards) of some headphones you've might used.

You want to mix on headphones? You know how superior professional monitors are right? Get lsr305's. Sound clear as shit man, that's what I use. If you want to be able to hear shit like pindrops get athm50s. No soundstage at all, but they are good for criticial listening

But mixing entirely on headphones, professional high-end or not, is a bad idea. It's way, way too easy to make a shitty mix that sounds beautiful on headphones.

With that in mind, >>51065241, I've used SRH840 for checking mixes in this way and it's more than enough quality and flatness to expose everything in the mix. Though I will concede they're not the most comfortable thing after a few hours.

Get a variety of cans, definitely get Earpods because they're so widespread, but also stupidly cheap earbuds, and maybe also MDR-V6/MDR-7506's

If you're getting the DT250, get the 80ohm version and not the 250ohm version.

The 250ohm version has inconsistent driver matching and the 80ohm is a more consistent product.

i don't think you should be calling yourself an "audio engineer" one week into making techno in ableton. you're a producer, at least.
