Your brain then stitches these high resolution images together in an internal 3d model and predictively adds any movement to the model assumed or identified by its low res vision.

It is my prediction that photo realistic rendering will be possible soon with out large advancements in gpu's simply by tracking accurately and at high speed the focus of your vision and only rendering that portion in high quality.
