Well I wouldn't buy either, but I'd say because the Macbook holds it's value.

A secondhand $1500 XPS in 2 years will go for $500

A secondhand $2300 Macbook in 2 years will go for $1600

You can sell your Macbook every 2-3 years and just put the rest out of pocket and ultimately it ends up being priced not too bad.

One of my team members on a software project I work on has one. Totally anecdotal; I know, but he said it was absolute shit. Sure, it looks nice and shit, but he said the trackpad was garbage and the build quality, suffering. His hinge is already showing signs of cracks.

I commute by train.
I can do 40 minutes of work on the train, meaning I can leave 45 minutes early every day.

And it's not even in the train.
If you sit next to a window in an office there is no way you can use a glossy laptop screen.
So you only have 2 screens instead of 3, or you have to sit in some depressing dark corner.

The cuck has some capability of being an ultra comfy media viewer while in bed/couch because tablet. That's all I'll probably use the "touch" for.

After going from 100% to 0% 300 times, the battery life drops to 99% of it's original capacity, and after another 300 times, it drops to 98%.

It's approx 10% +-5% manufacturing differences drop after 300 cycles for any lithium-ion based battery, not 1%.

It sure as fuck isn't 90% after 1000 cycles like Apple's pure bullshit false advertising either.

Despite being very pretty, this shit still has a lot of problems.

-Adaptive brightness is still a thing
>inb4 just turn it off in de power management options. Kek
-Spacebar creates double spaces every now and then.
-Wifi adapter has problems on windows 10, having to troubleshoot atleast once a day.
-Lots of programs don't scale well on the high-dpi screen like Adobe's CS5 collection.
-Lots of programs arent optimized for the trackpad yet. Chrome and Firefox for example has scrolling lag while it goes smooth in Edge.
