Windows is a bloated,, un-customizable spyware/data-mine fest. why should I use it for anything but gaming?
I got sick of fucking around with Linux all the time too on my desktop so i installed Debian stable along side windows. got it set up how I like with my favorite Wm and use it for everything but a few things I can't get to run on Linux.
I never have an issue, it's fast and it never breaks or slows down, never gets malware or viuses. It's never randomly doing background tasks I don't want going on or talking to corporation about me and my machine.
Also my Windows install stays pristine for the handful of things I use it for once in a while.
If you are wasting time with Linux it's because you are using some bleeding edge distro that throws issues at you, or because you have so many options that you fuck around with them constantly because you can. Or maybe you make your desktop look so cool for desktop threads that form over function has made actually using the OS miserable.
