There is some hope on the weird semiconductor fab shit. You know that flexible microchip thing? Well right now semiconductor manufactures are considering switching to flexible wafers. Not because of wearable electronics or transparent phones, but because flexible wafers aren't fucking fragile as glass. So you can make wafers the size of pizza tables without expensive robots for moving big fragile pieces of glass.
