I do game tho. I enjoy some gamecube games from my childhood from time to time. This works perfectly on Linux. Probably even better than on windows since I don't even need any additional drivers

Steam isn't free software, and neither are pretty much all the software that releases on it.

If you want to be serious about your freedoms, then you shouldn't be using Steam or get excited over games that release on it, regardless of what OSes the game client runs on.

Just get two computers.

One with a gaymen gpu for muh games, that you don't mind shitting up with gaming trash, since all the gaming programs tends to be invasive as fuck, and try to take over your desktop.
So let em, it's a glorified console.
Then have a computer with a real OS for everything else.

With a 20 dollar KVM switch, a 20 dollar audio switch, and a monitor with multiple inputs, switching back and forth is effortless.
