No. It doesn't. I write userscripts for Chrome all the time, and run them all the time. Hell, I'm running one right now, and my CPU is fine. I only have 4GB's of ram, too.

I'm on Linux, though. Probably just shitty bloated Windows 10, and the spyware eating up your cpu usage while you do anything.

tbh, vivaldi is basically chromium with the interface/features of Opera, and chrome extension support.

So it's essentially Chrome (without the botnet) inside of Opera.
