Curious about Linux distros /g/ uses.
What is your current distro(s)?
What distros have you used in the past?

Current on laptop: Arch
Current on desktop: Distro hopping (would gladly take recommendations for a gud desktop distro. I might just stick with Arch).

Distros I've used:
Pretty much every flavour of Ubuntu, OpenSUSE, Mint, Arch, Debian, Fedora.

Current: Mint Cinnamon 17.2

Zorin, Lubuntu, Arch, Crunchbang and hopped around before that, until I finally settled on Mint.
Worked with SUSE and RedHat before.

I am all about looks in a distro. Even most polished GUI like elementaryOs sometimes disapoints me, cause of different graphical engines like qt, java and some other stuff. I need to tinker it all the time. Is there any distro which wouldnt bother me with stuff like that?

Distos used: Slackware, Mandrva, Debian, *buntu, Gentoo. Arch, RHEL, Mint, Knoppix, DSL, FreeBSD, OpenBSD. I always go back to Fedora.

On my desktop I'm using Kubuntu 15.04 but I haven't even turned it on for weeks, so technically I'm not using it, I guess.

I've used pretty much every distro out there in the past. Ubuntu is where I've ended up purely because of software availability. Literally everything I'll ever need (and then some) is in the repos. Some of it isn't as up to date as I'd like, but most of it is.

In theory I prefer rolling release distros, but in practice... well. Arch is too much pissing about for me (I'm too old and grumpy) and its two oft-mentioned spin-offs are shit. (Antergos just refuses to install for me no matter what I do. Manjaro is just shit.) openSUSE Tumbleweed is great but is also the only distro that has ever kernel panic'd on me. Ever. It did so more than once in the month or so I tried using it as a daily driver, and both times were when I had the audacity to zypper up. So that got dropped like a prom night dumpster baby.

Fedora would be a happy medium I think, except that if you use it for the up to date software you really have to upgrade it every six months. It could be worse--I have a separate /home partition--but really it is still a pain. No, fedup doesn't really work, at least in my experience.

I would use Debian testing, which is theoretically my holy grail distribution, but the last couple of times I changed sources.list to testing and apt upgrade'd, it gloriously tore itself asunder and left me with a broken install. Like, apt just decided to do some crazy irreparable shit and nuked everything. Not impressed.

Well. This turned into a blog post, but yeah. Ubuntu.

I started GNU/Linux with Knoppix back when Live Cd was novelty enough to need specific distros.

Then I moved to Fedora 3.

A few months later I moved to Debian Testing, ad give or take a few bits of apt pinning (which makes my current distro a Testing/sid hybrid), I never looked elsewhere.

Briefly tried Fedora and Mint, didn't like either. I never saw the point of Arch since I like to tinker, but not tinker all the time.

I need to eventually train with CentOS so I have some relevant experience for jobs, but I just don't like the rpm shit. I'm just too use to .deb and apt.

Use now (depending on the machine): OpenSUSE, Ubuntu LTS, Bunsen Labs, Trisquel.

I use Trisquel on one desktop because it's the FLOSS faggot in me accompanied by the cognac.

Also use Knoppix (and sometimes Puppy) fairly regularly as a live.

In the past: too many to mention.
