Microsoft makes more than enough with servers and office. In the long term it's still dangerous for them if they aren't able to get their foot into new markets, the IT market can change pretty quickly and make their former cash cows obsolete.

Just think about what happens if there's a true competition for office, this is one of Microsofts biggest nightmares. This is also why they give away android and iOS versions of office, they want to keep any possible competition low, even if it means less unique selling points for Windows Phone.

Why did MS have to buy Nokia? I fucking love Nokia hardware, and I have faith that the camera on the 950 is going to blow everything away, but there's no fucking way I'm gonna use Windows Phone as my daily driver.

Have you ever used a WP for a while? I know it's hard to leave Android because MUH APPS, but when you get the hang of it it's a pretty nice OS. You should try it some time.

It's really hard to go back once you get used to all the things Android can do.

You can even plug a usb OTG cable with a thumb drive containing office documents into your Android phone and view/edit the files. I'll never be able to get over this stuff, literally an entire computer in your pocket.
