Well I'm sorry. See I'm trying to see if we can buy it play Starcraft brood war on it, but we also want to use YouTube and possibly upgrade the video card. It's a barebones need at this point, but we can make it stronger, faster, a better computer

that's an entirely different problem, but spec wise the machine is fine
but try shit like right-clicking the .exe and suing compatability mode, you can make win 8 pretend it's xp while running the program and so on

Admin is an option but it never seems to make a difference for me
simply right-clicking the game's executable, going to the compatibility tab and selecting whatever system you want the program to mimic should be enough
