The reality of the situation is: It isn't desktop PCs that see less usage, but that portable computers of all forms saw an increase in sales to people who didn't have computers at all in addition to those who have desktops.
In other words, those that never thought to buy a desktop, or had one, are buying portable.
The desktops is going as usual, if not increasing sales due to gaming and the need for a hub as more people who get into gadgetry also end up buying desktops.
The talk of the death of desktop is either a marketing ploy, or a fallacy held by idiots who read graphs but don't know what the fuck they mean.
