>>51080936Hey fag. I think you could reasonably go almost entirely off grid and here's why:
According to this link, the average American household uses 911kwh (never forget) per month
http://www.eia.gov/tools/faqs/faq.cfm?id=97&t=3Or 30kwh daily.
A 10kwh Tesla Powerwall is $3500 (to the distributor). Obviously this is not the cheapest option, but three of these would be enough to provide 30kwh daily.
This is a 250w solar panel.
http://www.amazon.com/Renogy-Watts-Volts-Monocrystalline-Solar/dp/B00F9HUXWOIt is $350. So four per kWh, assume that is capable of generating 10kwh a day, and 12 of these (at a dank cost of $4200) would juice your batteries.
If you want to be a cunt and say that's not enough, then double the panels to 24. Either way you haven't spent $20,000 yet and you have enough power to go completely off grid.
This is without an inverter and installation. But you're a big man with a working cock so you can do the install yourself. So now you're off grid and telling the electric company to shove it up their ass and at an average American 0.12/kWh your system will pay for itself in 15 years, which is a long time if you're that old now. But if you're an adult you realize that sometimes you have to plan for the future.
Anyway, that's if you do it TODAY. the technology will keep evolving and in ten years, which I'm sure sounds like an eternity to you (that's like ten call of duties from now!), this same install will cost almost nothing and be standard fare for American households.
Anyway, suck my dick you whiny pessimistic piece of shit.
