rutracker is currently having a poll to decide whether to keep the content on (and allow the block by the government)

or to delete almost everything DCMA-style to keep the site accessible to everyone

Basically, the website is going to be blocked for people in Russia, and they are holding a vote as to whether delete the 320,000 torrents (out of 1.6m) that are being classified as pirated content, or keep the torrents but allow the site to be blocked and leave it up to the users how to access it. Currently the latter option is far ahead in votes, it seems the community is willing to use proxies and such to access RUTracker.

I should add that this probably won't amount to much, we've had plent of attempts by the government to block all sorts of stuff, but here I am posting on 4chan, a site that was supposedly blocked in RF.

The Russian law system is laughable, you literally cannot get anything done through court.
