Fucking idiots, now they've had to backstep again with this stupid fucking design bullshit for this so-called pencil - they should have just put a small Lightning to pencil cable in the packaging.

Cheap fuckers with $250+ billion in the bank as of yesterday and making 40% profit or more on every god damned item they sell to stupid fucking people.

Personally, I think >>51083506 is right that apple had this all along.
That or they made some badass moves to make a huge amount of these in a short time.
So they knew what they were doing, or listened to their costumers and reacted incredibly quickly.

I would assume they had the adapter all along, but just didnt say anything about it. Apple is all about their presentation, so they wanted to show off that you could charge it from the iPad...not that you could use an adapter to charge it form a cable.

They also dont make a big deal out of the fact that you can use an iPad charger to charge an iPhone much more quickly. Its an officially supported thing, but they dont make nosie about it

there's literally just a pair of induction coils (think NFC) and a pressure sensor in the tip.

apple went with a shit design just because it looks better in static product shots, like their mouse charging abomination.

Any charger that delivers more amps can charge something with a smaller battery faster.
I use my Nexus 7 charger only Moto G all the time.

Legit engineering issues like having a small mechanical pivot near or on the place people would hold it?
The only good way to not have the charger at the end is to have it be a female plug on top side.Which would require a cable to attach to the pad.

Look I just don't think a mechanical hinge would work well or last on a small device like that.
Personally, think having a peripheral that charges on the device it's paired to is a cool idea.
