If you lived in some centuries from now, would you be interested in a robot with the same look, personality and behavior of a real boy to be raised as your son, but that could be customized (less or no crying, no misbehavior etc.)?

I have the same feelings about adoption as well, although less so because adopted children at least grow up. The point of having children isn't to possess a young, helpless human, but to pass yourself on and ensure the best for the next generation of you. We are immortal creatures under the delusion of mortality, when you make yourself infertile you risk real death (and ensure it if you have no siblings or cousins).
