So, what is wrong with this code?
I want to zoom in on an image and show it in a window the same size as the original image.

the whole thing's very complicated. Simplify the problem, make that work, then implement the extra features. In this case, implement a simpler zoom at a fixed position first; then implement the bit where the user can select the position to zoom.

generally speaking, something like 3 embedded 'for' statements is a sign that your code has descended to madness.
