Nobody cares that you have a CCIE.
Passing the CCNA is harder the first time you take it than the CCIE.

Pass the CCIE Collab, then we'll talk. (Dont say you have, theres only 24 people in the world that have passed that)

The only reason the CCNA first attempt is harder would be if you weren't prepared the first time, no doubt that if you're going for your CCIE lab you're likely very familiar with your own learning style

Is it even worth it to get an NA anymore?

I have some old routers and .img files for GNS3 but I've never gotten around to doing it because everybody I know who spent money on getting the cert can't find a fucking job with it.

I have ~5 years experience as a sysadmin in a 80% windows environment so I'm more of a Hyper-V guy but I can't find any work in that area so I've been looking at branching out.

Well clearly, bandwidth will need to scale up as well as compute and storage space.

I guess my question was a bit more directed at architectures. I hear about other mesh type topologies being researched/developed at the bigger companies like microsoft/google.

What's your thoughts on VXLAN?

clos 3 is the only practical way to have mesh (any to any) topologies, it's being done in small DCs too

VXLAN is a huge pain in the ass to setup, plus is limited to VTEP presences. That being said, if it's for a 100% virtual environment then it's a good bandaid if your applications can't be clustered over multiple subnets
