currently these but they just died on me, optical audio doesn't seem to be working haven't tried any of the other inputs. (already had the control pod replaced once by logitech for free but they dont do that any more apparently)

So long story short, my crazy roommate who has now been missing for weeks stole them and i have no idea where he put the damn things. Used my M50X's until I built my new PC and looked for new speakers. Heard about bookshelves, and noticed that a lot of video editors and music producers have similar speakers. Plunged and got the MB42X and HOT GOODIE do they rock. Since the bass isn't separate, everything sounds more natural. They are kinda big, but they look great and overall I would buy them again and even my (none crazy) roommates are jelly

And use wire strippers to get the cables to the length you want and the rest is pretty easy. It takes a tad more work than crappy comp speakers but worth it

they're great for the price.

i always wanted them as a kid.

i had a set of boston's, a little 11 watt 2.1 setup about ten years ago and man do i miss those things. just having a little subwoofer made life worth living. maybe i can find a set on ebay for a few bucks, they were a fuck ton better than those shitty logitechs i replaced them with.

My friend has a pair. They sound really good and that sub is enough to piss off your neighbors. Still I'd spring for a set of bookshelves like the MB42x, cheap amp and a cheap subwoofer. You'll spend a bit more than a set of cheapy 2.1s but it'll sound much better.

I figure that might be a bit better option than a manual splitter.

But I don't need all the features/size of a receiver, I've already got a solid amp+input switch.

Cambridge Audio R50 tho, I spend a few hours reading about em, and can barely find anything bad, except they need new caps, and the one I'll be checking out have had new caps installed.
These or the Dynaudio DM 2/6 which I'll be checking out Sunday (same price) will be my first proper speakers.

I've got z-5500's in my room and in the living room. I got both used for $150 each, pretty cost effective set. I don't really use them for music all that often, if I really feel like listening to music I tend to use my dt-880 pro or srh840 instead

don't have room around my TV so I'm getting a soundstand for my 50". Worthwhile soundbars are the ones with wireless woofers and wireless rear speakers, which Vizio and Sony make like 1 or 2 of. Most other soundbars are pretty shit for larger rooms.

I see them on sale every now and then for 150 and almost bought them yesterday but the reviews are keeping me away. I just want a nice 5.1 setup for a small room. Right now I have the logitech z623 and it's been amazing for the past few years... But now I want that surround sound. So I was thinking about getting a 5.1 bundle and a receiver without breaking the bank. Also don't have space for bookshelf speakers or anything of the sort.
