What music player do you use?
Do you think that the main reason mp3 player ricing has toned down is due to spotify?

I just purchased a Sandisk Clip+ last night. Reason being is my Nexus 5 has no expandable storage and it fills up really quickly. So I cant put my Bandcamp albums there. I have been using the Bandcamp streaming app and to be truthful its garbage. Constant drops, songs simply don't play, choppy buffer rates and glitchy interface.

I am actually quite relived that I will have something else to play music off so I wont be so hard on my phones battery. There is a neat custom firmware you can install called Rockbox that uses less battery and optimizes the ui.

Spotify Premium is life, you can get a decent amount of music, it is compressed a decent amount for small file sizes (not enough to actually hear a difference, cough* cough* FLAC fags) and with my student ID I only pay $5 a month.

I don't have it for the ad free, although that's nice, I own it because I can download the songs to my phone. I drive a lot and love to listen to music in the car. I don't like to torrent music, not really because of the "much stealing" but I just thinks it is more of a hassle, plus illegal. It is just an over good plan that works for me.

I am on the Google play music free trial, mostly for YouTube Red, I really don't like Play Music that much tho. It just feels far less sleek and fast than Spotify, or anything else for that matter. There is a delay when you click artists, then you have to click on each album, and songs. Half second delays seem small, but they lessen the overall experience.

Yeah it seems laggier, and I like Spotify's theme better because, once again, Google feels the need to use a white theme on everything. I mean I don't know why they don't decide to have a dark theme for media centric apps like YouTube and Music. But oh well, they have 98% of my artists minus Rammstein and I'm really liking YouTube Red so far. The fact that I can leave Red, do something else quickly, and have YouTube keep playing is fucking nawesome man. I cancelled my Spotify, so its not like I'm spending anymore money.

I have a mix of albums I torrented, mostly metal, and various obscure electronic/indie songs that I download from Youtube using YTD Pro. Any FLAC albums that I torrent I just throw into dBpowerAmp for conversion to whatever Apple's lossless format is called and then throw into iTunes. I can't stand streaming music. Fuck Spotify, Pandora, Google's shit, and yes, especially Apple Radio or whatever it's called.

Even though iTunes is a buggy piece of shit at times, it mostly works.

It's basically MPD with plugin support, you should try it.
If you want to stream from Spotify, you can, there's a plugin for that.

This. It's so much more comfortable than having to pirate every new album I listen to in a month which are about 4-5 in general. Moreover, torrenting is a bitch in Germany and lots of people I know have been fined and I don't have access to any decent private trackers.

I used to use this puppy a lot. I even drowned it. Than I got my phone and than iPad Shuffle (that I lost cuz it is so small). Now I am using Spotify and I even tried Tidal and I can tell that Flac is great. If I only had money and better headphones I would subscribe to it.

A lot of people don't use MP3 players because they have smartphones that can do it instead and have decent storage now. I only use a Sansa Clip because I don't want to keep charging my damn phone whenever I sit down.

if it weren't for the fact that I am a shill and own an iPhone, I would never pay for spotify. Netease music is hands down the best music player I've ever used. While its in Chinese, the song library and the streaming make up for it considerably. Also its free. 100% free. And when you download music, its saved as an mp3. You can make a 5000 song playlist, download it, and use F2K, VLC, or whatever you decide to shill.

Oh yeah, the built in music player is kinda cool I guess. It has lyrics in English and Chinese for english songs.
