Any tips on making this build less expensive without any giant sacrifices? Any feedback is appreciated.

On the right side of the spreadsheet you can see my budget plan. Right now I have around $550 and plan to sell my current computer for $500 along with my Chromebook for $170, and then buy a new computer with all the combined money.

I'd say go with the 390 instead. The 390 doesn't really give you much more for the price.

Looks good... But the 970s 3.5 is a real issue on some problems. 390 is probably for the best right now.

Then I posted another build I made for another guy in another thread.

I basically did the laziest thing possible.

everyone who buys ATX (even mid towers) or above for less than three GPUs or six storage drives is a fucking retard. it`s wasting money on zero performance benefits and that money would be much better used on a mATX case and a better GPU or faster processor or a SSD or more RAM. or just save it to go on a date.

personally, I went a step further and got mITX. although I wouldn`t advise overclocking in them, it fits everything I need and I have zero heat issues on my tiny sugo case (I did have to cut some unused cables from the PSU with a scissor to free up some space for airflow, though, since it doesn't mix well with modular PSUs).
