There's been a lot of talk lately about removing systemd from Linux and about switching to distorts that don't use systemd. This is all well and good, but I think the time has come to discuss how to purge the real cancer of the operating system.

How possible is it to remove all GNU components, and what are some good alterternatives for this? I've already swapped out GCC with TCC and I'm looking for more suggestions.
