How is it for older content? I heard somewhere that it was great for new stuff, but the old stuff was really hard to find.

Depends on the content. Rare/obscure stuff might be easier to find on private trackers, but the speed is worth not having *some* stuff. I've never had an issue with lack of content.

I heard that about bittorrent too. Depending of your provider the retention of message is about 3 months

I did when the Wii was first hacked, grabbing DVD ISOs in a few minutes was vastly superior to the inconsistency of torrent speeds. Plus, I played enough for it to be worth it.
