Having no logs could be a moral and legal problem. No logs at all creates friction with enforcement and lawyers. I don't think it's Eliot's intention to advertise no logs and attract more people who may break the law to the service, and then find that
Pantsu.cat doesn't have the data and they don't get caught.
With a very short logging policy, the law enforcement could be helped in emergencies such as where the law enforcement is trying to find a kidnapper who uploaded a file with a demand on
Pantsu.cat yesterday. This could save human lives.
With respect for privacy, I am suggesting a short 3-14 days logging policy at
Pantsu.cat. After this period, the logs containing IP-addresses are deleted. Log rotation would happen daily. You should be using Tor, by the way.
I also welcome other clones to consider and voice opinions on this, but remember this is only an RFC not a consensus.
