Why has my C drive so much better performance than the other drives? C and E is actually the same physical HDD, so it makes no sense.

Is this a benchmark or just from normal usage? Your C drive has the OS installed on it so it is almost always spun up, and you have to wait for the other drives to spin up if they are accessed less often. This is my guess for your problem, anyways.

It's the "Benchmark" option in the program, and C and E is the same HDD so I don't think it has to do with it not being spun up.

hdd's have better performance near the start than the do at the end, both throughput-wise and latency-wise

If its an hdd, the 1st partition is always faster.
Think about distance the head has to move

This, a disc at constant velocity spins faster near its center. Which happens to be where the beginning of the logical disk is and thus your first partition.

I downloaded HD Tune and did some tests. Results were that E was only about 30-40% slower than C, and F was faster than C.

My conclusion is that the defraggler benchmark is just shit.

Because you use a 2tb drive partitioned, and your C partition is on the outer part of the platter because of defragging.

Nah, C and E is a 640GB drive and F is a 1.5TB drive. But you're right about the speed difference between C and E.

However, it appears the benchmark in defragger is broken anyway.
