There is one.
A sony e-reader exactly the size of an A4 paper,
specifically designed to read PDFs.
I never craved a tech product so much since highschool, but it costs 1000$, so I just have to wait a decade or so.

A4 is a shitty size for paper. It is too wide to be read comfortably. It could be okay for technical literature with lots of plots and schematics.
Reading longer passages of pure text would be a strain on the eye.

Amazon Kindles are all 6''. It's too small. The Kobo Aura h20 or whatever it's called is 6.8'' which is a little better, but still a bit small.
7-8'' would be perfect imo.
