So I bought a Laptop, a new Acer e5 for pretty much nothing. Thing is it has Windows 10 pre-installed.
Should I even bother to clear some shit in the registry and make it a little bit more safe or should I just get another OS?

you can download and install a stock iso from microsoft and it will activate fine

Wait do you actually mean a Windows 10 ISO? That wouldnt make a lot if sense because all of my data goes directly to Microsoft.
Or die I misunderstand you and you meant that I should get any other ISO directly from Microsoft.

it's not hard, it's just time consuming. i have win10 ltsb n running on my netbook and i really like it, but it's too much of a hassle to disable all the telemetry and other bullshit. there's probably a script out there that does all of that, i'll need to check.

also, i've found that windows update is weird and kinda stupid in win10. you may only turn on automatic udpates or defer them. you cannot have it check for updates and notify you, as in win7.

despite how much i like it, win10 is not being installed on any of my main machines for the time being. only on backup and test machines.
