>>240335Okay so it's going to have multiple spreads then? If so then how much text do you really need on the first page? I would say just enough to get people interested in reading the full article, which could be done with more attention grabbing headlines, snippets, quotes and imagery rather than paragraphs of text which could be saved for the full articles. Cutting down the text on this page could give you the space to be more experimental with the layout, but right now it's very content heavy and the layout really should be trying to keep things grounded to avoid confusion.
Having multiple articles start on the first page is an interesting idea but
>>240354 is right, it's way too over-designed and the thought of putting additional text inside the ribbons, although a novel idea, will most likely make the layout look even more cluttered and confusing.
The obelisk can be a theme without it being on every page. I mean it's in the title and on the front cover so I'd say that's already apparent.
I dunno, when I look at the design it just makes me want to wipe it clean, clear out the clutter and rearrange everything in a more coherent way. Put simply there's just too much going on.
