I'm moving to Toronto at the end of the month, I just graduated from a Graphic Design program and I'm looking for work.

Unfortunately I don't have much of an online presence and it's become an issue. I have a domain name but I don't have much time in my day between work and a very serious family matter to really work on getting a website up and running.

Is there anything out there I could use to establish a quick online portfolio without looking like I just threw something together shitily? Does a Behance portfolio seem unprofessional?

squarespace with your own domain name. i don't really like behance but it falls more into the category of networking. if you want to "get found" online you need to actively be pushing new stuff to twitter, dribbble, behance, codepen, whatever it is you do, and blog posts/post mortems/tutorials don't hurt either. if you just want someone to be able to google you or find all your work when they look at your business card, then yeah squarespace is pretty nice and better than wordpress if you don't intend to rip it apart and design your own site

what's ironic, anon, is that instead of pointing out how it works in that specific example because the serif that's used is a display font, you just simply reject the fact that serifs are superior to all when it comes to body copy.

What more do you need for help? Just do your research, write down key points you want to display, work out how much text you will be dealing with for each point and start to sketch out some imagery pertaining to each fact or a group of facts. Eventually you'll inspire yourself in your own self developed owl universe and the rest should from naturally.

If you're still struggling with layouts, sketch a few roughs in the dimensions you're restricted to, be sure to crop some of your imagery for "creative effect" and remember that whitespace if your friend when it comes to infographics.

try removing the gradient. nice photos look very good with their normal colour and white text on top of them. it's kind of overplayed for that reason but... the gradient is really ugly. is there a reason it's like, watermelon colours? maybe something a bit softer if you need a gradient?

Anything with a good set of caps and a good ampersand would probably work. Maybe something condensed so you can play with the 'and'/+/& in between the words. We don't know what the client does or what this image is used for sooo

Drag it into photoshop and bump up the contrast first so that way the lines will be darker when you image trace and you wont wont lose as much.

Im in a bit of a problem here so help me.

I did this design for a client and made a news design error (page numbering) and the client printed 500 books

now, legally speaking who is at fault here? me or the client?

because it was surelly an error I didn´t notice, the client payed for it BUT
the client didn´t show me the demo version the printer gave to them and I stated clearly in the contract that I would only do the desing of the book. I wouldn´t get in charge or in contact with the printer
so!, who´s at fault (legally speaking) because the client was show the demo and gave the ok for prineter to print. I wasn´t shown the demo.

I´m getting a lawyer first day of the week
