Vapor is slightly overrated.

>>240715 Oh, well the logo's very very good. It's maybe slightly overrated, but not as overrated as the company itself.

I wasn't sure if I should post this here or in /ic/. Do you need to know how to draw in order to be a successful graphic designer? If so, how much drawing skills are required? Pic unrelated

Quoted By:
Depends...not required, but knowing so is a huge advantage in the field.

Sorry, I didn't finish answering your question. I would recommend practicing Anatomy. Google Lumis, the methods are more by the books than you would think, The greatest advantage by studying drawing anatomy is it shows you primarily how to draw with shapes and proportions. Those simple thing go a long way in design. Hope that helps!

You don't, but you will grow as a designer if you can. Understanding forms and how to render them realistically will improve your eye for all visual arts no matter how abstract, I think. Example: I am mediocre at drawing. I am also mediocre at design.

As an illustrator who slowly drifted towards graphic design: yes. Learn how to fucking draw. You'll kill your competition. A lot of graphic designers are just moving shapes around in Illustrator, and a lot of talented illustrators are intimidated by graphic design. Learn both and you'll stand out in a competitive field. Trust me, it pays off tremendously.

I've being looking for a good Japanese Textbook Font/教科書体 but they seem quite rare to begin with.
I found "Motoya Kyotai/モトヤ教科書" (comes thickness W2, W3 and W4)
http://www.motoyafont.jp/embedded_fonts/embedded_list_kyouka.html http://www.fonts.com/font/motoya/motoya-kyotai/family On their own site thez got a "demo-download" for that font but it only contains 1006 common kanji.
I'm a poorfag that can't shell out ¥75000/€560 for that. It's only for a personal project of mine.
Anyone know a place where I could get that font or knows a similar looking free font?

What do you think of my latest logo? It's to emphasize on the fact that I can draw like with a pen, but on computer.

I experienced an odd incident, where I blacked out while sketching in Ps and was surprised to see what was in front of me when I woke,it was due to long homework hours with no sleep, 50 plus I believe now and still going. Does anyone else have any weird unexplained "Blackout" drawings?

>>240692 Are you kidding me? My whole work is based on blackouts!
I usually procrastinate until the deadline then I blackout and when I wake up, work is done.

I admit, I do the same. Some of my best work has been done while under deadline crunches... I had just never woke and realized I had not been sleeping, but drawing. Weird feeling..
