Is it possible to use an animated gif file instead of a still image? Like, can you change the code in NP++ so that the program loads a gif instead?

the sourcecode is on github, I don't know how exactly, but its probably not very hard. figure out which UI toolkit it uses, look up how to display animated images with that UI toolkit, then change the code that displays the splash.

The splash didn't load when I renamed it to .png.
I just put it in the folder with the usual filename "gimp-splash" and it worked. Kind of glitchy but it worked.
I never got it to work before which is weird. Maybe they added support for .gif splash screens in the latest update.
