I have a video game store job that wants me to also do frequent promo posters for sales, events, etc. They're usually short notice (in a day or two) and don't require much but throwing pictures together.

But I struggle to make this shit look good. Do you guys just design a bunch of default templates to plug text and images in? Do you just have a folder of shapes or something? How do you pump out generic but nice looking promotional images quickly?
