[ ] Sci-fi/Futuristic (This includes postapocalypse, space opera, technomagic...)
[ ] Fantasy/Medieval (Includes oriental fantasy, feudal japan, anything that is basically classic high fantasy or similar)
[ ] Highschool/Contemporary (includes densha, office, contemporary warfare, anything set on our times)
[ ] Others? (Please develop)

Not asking if you have a fetish for a particular thing inside those settings, but which is overall your favorite setting for a hentai since you can have a bodysuit fetish but you can prefer fantasy settings.

Surely it depends heavily upon context?
If you're more into a character than anything else, then the setting revolves around it.
Likewise if your particular interests only make sense in a particular setting then you're of course more drawn to it.
If you detach yourself from all context then you can't focus on what it is that you actually enjoy seeing, it obscures your preference.

In that regards high Fantasy is kind of the safe bet, since doesn't really matter what you are into, it can work there.

And that's why that kind of setting is my favorite, because anything can work there and still feel natural.

Makes sense to say that it's going to be fairly popular given the options provided.
School settings usually but not necessarily implies developing chars, that can be a big turn off. Sci-fi can be a bit foreign for all but a few characters.
The fantasy genre also allows for the same narrative freedom as sci-fi without having to care about technicalities, so it's really easy to write for or portray. "How does that even work?" "Magic."

School settings are only good for a few things IMO:

They're relatable, a lot of people are drawn to them because they're also in education.
They're taboo, when you're sitting around in a formal environment you might daydream about the same stuff but you can't act on it, this is a vent for that.
Skirts, yep, those are things that are worn.
"Sensei", personally I cringe but whatever boats your float.
And the elephant in the room, the age range. Again whatever does it for you, I don't judge. The media (drawn) and related culture seems to readily accept the fact that a large portion of the consumers appreciate younger chars.

Fantasy however does a whole lot more. I don't watch a lot of fiction for how relatable it is, I don't particularly want to see: This world + h.
I want to see something new and interesting that can only exist in the media being used, regular porn exists for that purpose.
I want to see an approach that so unreasonably excels at portraying scenes that cannot possibly be in reality. A lot of others flock to this media for the same reason, a few relevant examples:

Any genre can suffer from the same social or societal taboos that are prevalent at the time, I'm not just trying to take shots at any particular setting. I do find however that school settings are just a bit too focused on them, it's just too tempting to write I guess.
School settings also introduce plenty of fantasy elements from time-stop to mind-control, the genres aren't necessarily mutually exclusive. The time periods needn't be either, you can have ye olde school just as easily as you can have modern day apocalypse. The aim shouldn't be "what environment is hot" (the sun, I guess) but rather "what scenarios make for good story" (me english good).
