"Pre" art deco is Bauhaus.
Has lots of animal prints and a more "tribal" feel to it.
Just to pick nits, most of the stuff here is NOT art deco, but streamline moderne.
Deco is very monolithic and vertically oriented, with lots of ornate detail including chevrons, sunbursts, statuary (think the Oscars statue), spires and a light color palette. Windows are usually square and small.
Streamline is horizontally oriented and very clean, with a simple color palette (white, cream stucco surfaces, with dark (usually black) Bakelite (plastic) and aluminum or stainless steel),horizontal "speed lines" (usually in sets of 3), windows are usually round "porthole" style, glass brick (usually curved around a corner), or pilliarless corner windows. "Eyebrow" overhangs are also common.
