yes as often as possible especially if you want to be an animator

community colleges, rec centers, museums, unsupervised student run sessions at your local universities which you can crash provided you bring the model fee and dont stand out, hell theres even some people who run their own online just google it buddy

They do help but you should do longer poses as well. I also think it's worth experimenting a LOT on various approaches to gesture since there are many different mentalities and schools of thought and methods and what works for one person may not work for another. It's also a bit of a waste of time for beginners in my opinion. If you can't draw a decent figure in 10 or 20 minutes there's no way you will learn anything from 1 minute gestures.

Not sure what to draw? Then the theme of the thread will be studies of our peers, strangers and models or going outside and sketching (painting) interesting local architecture/structures.

Definitely a trace. I'd why people lie. He just did a shitty job tracing the face and hard to draw shit. Look at the fur in the coat. Every single last little hair is in the exact same spot. It's a trace.

I would believe it wasn't maybe if the guy said he had been at been at digital for a while. Or his fagit self could just record himself drawing easily on the computer to prove it next time but overall I don't understand why people lie on the Internet. Self confidence is self confidence I guess. Lies or not.

I don't know, I see enough differences in the ways I would expect for me to think it wasn't traced. I think he just stuck to the reference, which believe it or not, is possible. Seeing something else he drew without reference would help me decide but right now I don't think it was a trace job.

OP it looks good, especially for a first attempt. Your technique could be better though, I'd recommend checking out ctrlpaint.com or any kind of videos you can about digital painting.

Besides, unlike you amerifags we don't get out of college with a crushing debt that we'll have to repay during all of our lives.

Trust me, I couldn't care less about a degree (hell I dropped out of art school in Europe) and I know that an art degree is as good as toilet paper when applying for art jobs.

But the truth is that for foreigners looking to work in the US, a degree will go a long way to help you out getting that fucking visa.

Large organizations with lots of bureaucracy like having official documentation regarding qualifications. It's a lot simpler on them that way, for better or worse to the individual.
Degrees are just evidence of qualification that makes it so they don't need to verify your skillset.
Naturally these requirements are retarded in fields like art but government bureaucracies aren't famous for their flexibility and understanding.
