So im thinking about starting a new company that paints with airbrush and so on. Anyone of you have some experience around airbrush? Please do tell.

This. Seriously OP the airbrush is one of the hardest things to use, and is very specialized. If you have zero experience with it you won't be able to start a company based on it, especially not in the next year or two.

I dunno, I've never used it myself. From what I hear though it is really tricky. Most airbrush art looks like absolute poop. I know that when Giger was alive he would get a lot of people writing him asking about airbrush stuff, and he would have his manager answer for him and he would tell people basically "give up on the airbrush. Almost no one can use it properly, it's not really worth the time to learn it".

considering it takes people many years (read: more than "by next summer") to draw at an alright level - let alone run a company based on it, I would assume that doing the same with airbrush is much harder. there's a reason why airbrush is less and less common and it's not because you're unique. but you are clearly adamant on starting a company and i hope you have a good learning experience.

Unfortunately yes. Im not sure why i want to starta my own company. But its just for fun.

I will buy some cheapass airbrush and start of simple. As i said, im not sure when the company will start but it will start!

I think you may be a little unreasonable with what you are wanting to do. You pretty much won't be able to make a dime unless you are selling cheapo airbrushed t-shirts. People just don't want things airbrushed any more. And those who do don't want to pay what it takes to produce something decent. I'd drop the notion of starting a company and just do it for fun. You'll be much happier without the frustration of trying to sell your work. I was always ecstatic when I was able to break even.

Thanks. You're bang on with how it's done. But, I also reversed the mask for the background (see pic). That also makes a real handy "test" area to fuck with the airbrush before committing to anything. I stayed away from a brush for any detail since it always looked a bit too sharp compared to everything else, so it's all airbrush. Only time I'd use a traditional brush is if I fucked something up and needed to lift something out or re-block a small area to start over.

But why a company in the first place? Managing money, taxes, LLCs is an entire discipline of it's own that will distract you from all the work that you're not even doing yet.

get a used working duble action like an old paache vl something under 100 bucks and see if you like it my job has led me to get away with making money off the airbrush (custom car paint) not many services for airbrush automotive some illustrators but it will be for some big wig and that takes chops of steel
