What kind of pencil sharpeners do you all use?

Every time I sharpen my beloved 6B, the graphite breaks. It's driving me insane.

Fairly sure it's not the sharpener but the lead inside that's broken. You must've dropped the pencil. I use a scalpel to sharpen my pencils and then sandpaper the end into a nice point.

The Kum Automatic Long Point. It has 2 sets of blades, the first hole only cuts away the wood, the second sharpens the graphite. It gives a very narrow tip. It doesn't work as well with pencils with thicker cores unfortunately.

Best sharpeners are helical blade sharpeners, either hand crank or electric.
No matter how good a hand sharpener you get, it will eventually dull, and I've not found an easy way to replace the blade.
If a lead is breaking in a particular pencil, the lead is fucked, not the sharpener.
A knife is a good way to sharpen in many instances, especially charcoal pencils. But in many instances, I think it takes too long.

Using sharpeners to sharp your pencil is as bad as using machine pencils. Learn how to use this, it is not hard and you have a much better control of how thin or thick you want it to be.

To be able to do broad strokes and fine lines. Most good life drawing artists sharpen their pencil this way.

I just use pic related. It works well enough, not to mention it has two holes for different pencil sizes which is convenient.

This one is good. My art therapist had it on his desk.

I just use a Staedtler sharpener though. Nothing fancy. Does the trick.

I have that model, I must have a dud or something because it sucks DICK my man. It literally destroys any pencil I'm foolsih enough put in it. I have a sharpener I bought at the hardware store for $1 that works better, no joke.

No dud, those chinese-made pseudo-knockoff Staedtlers are shit all the way. However, pic related and the following pic are exceptional Staedtler sharpeners (made in Germany stamped on the bottom)

Regular pencils suck, they always break. That's why I use mechanical pencils

how do I sharpen prismacolor pencils without it breaking? Have tried electric and hand sharpener and both eventually lead to the color tips loosening and popping out.

As said before, if a tip keeps breaking for no particular reason the pencil has been dropped and the lead is sitting broken inside of the pencil's wooden "casing".
