Ay, d/ic/ks, what are some good YouTube artist you guys follow? Preferably some that show a lot of their work, timelapse vds etc. Tutorials are fine too.

Lesser known but Jonathon Rector is a really good western comic artist and he has very strong work ethics and practices you should pick up on.

Even though this is true it doesn't erase the fact that his work is mediocre. It took him 10 years to get to the current stage of his art (referenced at in his "how NOT to be an artist" video). His videos are interesting and his personality is pretty amiable, but his work is just so incredibly underwhelming that it'd really hard to overlook.

Watts on youtube has a lot of good content on their channel, same with other artists like Scott Robertson and James Gurney. I think Istebrak is good for people just starting out; her channel has a lot of examples going over common beginner mistakes and how to fix/avoid them. Peleng has a number of process videos on both youtube and vimeo.

FZD is by far the best channel I've seen. 85 episodes of design cinema so farm, most of them over an hour long of drawing and commentary. Done by one of the best concept artists in the industry.

Great personality, large backlog of videos at this point, posts fairly frequently (~1-2 videos/week), his work's pretty solid and looks good.

Videos types include drawing/painting process video, pep talks, tutorials, and drawing technique/philosophy discussions.

Alphonso dunn is awesome. He teaches pen and ink things with those micron pens. Though, I prefer fountain and dip pens.
