>>2265130I think the main issue you are running into is you are being too literal about combining an animal/plant into a human. What you made was basically a furry. You made your furry oc deer human thing. That's pretty lame. If the assignment was "Draw your own furry" then maybe that would be okay, but its not.
The essence of this project is to humanize a plant or animal. Obviously the simplest thing you could do is give an animal a human face, but I think a better route to go is to take already established tropes and put them in different situations that are decidedly human but also decidedly the animal/plant.
you could probably do this quickly it wouldn't have to be a complicated piece. what about an ent sunbathing? like at a beach with one of those reflector things. he could even have some smoke coming off of him to show he's getting too hot.
If that doesn't really interest you you could do something about giraffes walking upright. That'd be probably the funniest animal who could learn to walk upright but again it's getting into furry territory. I'd write more but I have to get back to what I was doing. good luck.
