Germany and its allies were the Old World, the world of nobility and rule and imperialism, trying to hold on to the structure and systems that elevated Europe and the Anglosphere above the rest. Also by losing, everything east of Germany become monumentally more fucked up and complicated. Look at a map of 1914 and compare it to 1919 or 1923. Wilson's whole self-determination thing and France / Britain's attempts at carving up the former Ottoman regions caused more problems than they solved.
And with a WW1 victory for the Germans and their allies, most likely would not have been a WW2, or if there had been, it would have been concentrated to the east, a fight against the Soviets and their attempts at expanding.
