Well I don't know the numbers but it already seems to have a problem in my head.

1. How much money does it cost to bring a good sattelite into space that would be able to serve such a function for the current increasing use of the internet?
2. If your are going to send the signal off into space and then back to earth, wouldn't that increase the length of the path by alot?

you always compare to it not vise-versa
the difference between speed of light in fiber and speed of light is 1/3 of speed of light

False it would not be 50% faster as the fiber would travel in a relatively straight line compared to a satalight connection which sends a signal through the atmosphere(not a vacuum) to a satalight in space (a vacuum) through the atmosphere again (not a vacuum) to where ever the signal needs to get to.
Say alight would probably have higher latency if anything

ontopic, placing satellites in low earth orbit means that it should be shitload of them, because they would orbit the earth faster than rotation of earth itself (that's why people liked the idea of geostationary orbit)
